Welcome to the New: Best Family Ever!

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
II Corinthians 5:17.

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” Galatians 2:20.

Welcome to the New is the title of the band Mercy Me’s 2014 album. For me its an indicator of what Jesus Christ did for us in the cross. The Son of God hung on the cross where He was nailed, and after 6 hours, He cried, “It is Finished.” I guess the layman translation would be “Welcome to the New.” On that cross, the Savior of the World invited us into a new life, His Life; the Life that is superior in quality and super-abundant in quantity.

The finished work of Christ doesn’t only raise you above the dominion of darkness, this Eternal Life empowers you to live victoriously and fulfill everything He made you for. His Life also empowers you to live a godly life just like Jesus would.

For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age.” Titus 2:11‭-‬12.

God’s grace- His empowerment- teaches us how to live godly, how to live like God. Unlike some people erroneously assume, grace isn’t the ability to sin, it is the ability to be righteous in the midst of sin; it is the ability to be godly in the midst of an ungodly world. This Life of Christ empowers us to do good works and establish the culture of unconditional love here on earth.

Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him.” I John 5:1.

Believe that Jesus is the Christ and be born of God, join His family of Love. He is not saying “Welcome to the New… Religion” he’s saying “Welcome to the New… Life,” the Life of Christ; the Life that brings you into the family of God. Its a great place to be, get in.
