Free From Bondage, Part of The Beloved

It’s amazing what JESUS CHRIST did for us; it really is. Sometimes we just seem to gloss through life without fully realizing the implication of what JESUS accomplished on the cross. HE was “…delivered up because of our offenses and was raised because of our justification” (Romans 4:25).

We- mankind- were in a real fix. Adam, the first man, committed high treason by disobeying GOD’s Word and receiving that of the devil. He unwittingly surrendered dominion of the earth realm to the devil and received the nature of sin (See Genesis chapter 3). Sin is a nature that is contrary to everything that GOD is. Sin came into this realm and corrupted everything that GOD made. It even corrupted The Blessing of GOD upon Adam and Eve.

Cursed is the ground for your sake…in the sweat of your face you shall eat bread” (Genesis 3:17 &19). Under The Blessing everything in the earth realm submitted to mankind, but under the curse that came via sin, mankind would have to toil to eat. Doesn’t that sound familiar? Every day, people on earth toil and ‘hustle’ for bread and sustenance; that was never GOD’s plan. His intention was “Be fruitful and multiply…have dominion…” (Genesis 1:28) not toiling and eating by the sweat of our faces. Despite the fact that Adam and Eve had disobeyed and basically ‘Sold out,’ GOD still loved them and sent them out of Eden, not because HE was repulsed by them, but so that they wouldn’t eat of The Tree of Life. If they had done so, mankind would have had the ability to life forever as sinners and any chance of salvation would have been lost.

GOD always has a plan to become flesh as JESUS CHRIST and take away all our sins and transgressions.

Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:4-5.

Oh, isn’t it amazing? Isn’t it wonderful to know that the perfect ONE who knew no sin chose to take our place? Isn’t it amazing that GOD Himself paid the wages of our sin so that we could inherit life free-of-charge? Indeed it is. JESUS hung on the cross for us; HE was stricken, smitten and afflicted. HIS body was broken and HIS blood poured out as a perfect sacrifice for an imperfect, ungodly people. HE received death so that we might receive life.

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 2:4-6.

We were dead. The curse of sin saw to that. But while we were dead, GOD in CHRIST JESUS made us alive again by HIS sacrifice. JESUS paid the wages of sin for us; HE went to hell and arose on the 3rd day, presenting Himself as the perfect lamb offering in the heavenly holiest place. HIS blood cleansed our sins once for all; our part to play? Receive HIM, accept HIS sacrifice and be the righteousness of GOD.

JESUS translated us from darkness to light so let us walk in light. Let those of us who have partaken of this eternal life of GOD live consciously of it every day. Let us be aware that as we are now in CHRIST, we are victors by our faith in HIM. The curse is broken in our lives; sickness is gone from our bodies; poverty is far away from us. Glory to GOD!

We mustn’t live as though we are still in bondage to the devil; he is powerless concerning us! The blood of JESUS CHRIST has purchased us freedom from the dominion of sin. We have now become part of the beloved of GOD; so let us always walk in the light of this incredible truth.
