There’s something about the man who stands for the Lord GOD. It almost seems like he exists in another planet while still being present on earth.
“Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord , And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper” Psalms 1:1-3.
A man’s prosperity isn’t in his best-laid plans or strategies, it is in the Lord GOD being with him; it is in his knowing the ways of GOD. When we meditate on GOD’s Word day and night, we will become acquainted with His ways and we will see great success. When we begin to know GOD’s ways, we start to realize that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is available to us; to lead us and give us instructions per time.
When we trust in our own strength we’ll never reach the full potential we should. Observe the life of Joseph, son of Jacob. The young man was a slave (not an employee, mind you, but a slave), yet this is what the Bible has to say about him:
“The LORD was with Joseph, and he was a successful man…” Genesis 39:2.
Wow! A slave being referred to as a successful man? Amazing. It tells us that success in life isn’t about a job title or which corporation a person works with, it’s all about GOD being with the person. Joseph was a slave yet he was successful and everything he did prospered, why? It’s because the LORD was with him. From his encounter with Potiphar’s wife (See Genesis 39:7-20), it’s obvious that Joseph had a lifestyle of not walking in the counsel of the ungodly; based on what he said in Genesis 39:9, it was clear that Joseph delighted in the law of the LORD (his father probably taught him because the law wasn’t yet given). He loved what GOD loved and hated what HE hated. Joseph loved the LORD and stood for the LORD and He was with him.
Let’s stand for the LORD today even if everyone around us refuses to do so. Let us know His ways and follow His precepts and have great success.
